DeFi is the set of financial primitives that run as open-source smart contracts on permissionless blockchains. You don't ask to use them; you just connect a wallet.
The four primitives worth learning first
Stablecoins, DEXs, money markets, and liquid staking. Master these and most of the surface of DeFi becomes legible.
