
Dencun one year later: the numbers, the wins, the loose ends
Rollup fees dropped from $0.30 to under $0.02 on the median transaction. That's the headline — and it's real. Blob capacity has done most of the work it was designed to do.
What didn't change
L1 gas is still L1 gas. Users transacting on mainnet Ethereum pay what they always paid. Dencun was never about L1 — it was about making L2s cheap enough to matter.
